Kathleen Kendall-Tackett has published Psychological Trauma and Breastfeeding: What we know so far, 2022, in the European Society of Medicine Journal and for UNICEF. Looking at the different types of trauma and what criteria there are for the diagnosis of trauma. Looking at breastfeeding and feeding choices by women when different types of trama have been diagnosed. Traumas include birth trauma and intimate partner violence, childhood trauma and adult trauma. An interesting read, reinforcing the need for nurses to work with women and families from a trauma-informed practice model.
