International Nurses Day 2026, we honour the extraordinary contribution of children and young people's nursesDate:
As we celebrate International Nurses Day 2026, we honour the extraordinary contribution of children and young people's nurses across Australia. This year’s theme, "IND 2026: Our Nurses. Our Future. Empowered Nurses Save Lives," speaks directly to the heart of our profession. Every day, nurses improve and save lives, and nowhere is this more evident than in the care of infants, children, young people, and their families. Your expertise, advocacy, and compassion shape healthier futures and strengthen the wellbeing of our communities. When nurses are empowered through education, leadership, safe staffing, and supportive systems, children and young people thrive. This year’s theme builds on the last two IND reports, highlighting the economic and societal value of nursing. It reinforces what we already know: a strong, well-supported nursing workforce is essential to delivering trusted, person‑centred care and transforming health systems to meet today’s biggest health challenges. On behalf of the ACCYPN Board, thank you for your unwavering commitment to children and young people's health. Your leadership, resilience, and dedication continue to inspire and uplift our profession. We encourage you to join the global celebration and amplify the message using the 2026 hashtags: #IND2026 and #OurNursesOurFuture. |
