Credentialing: setting the standard in nursing

Six specialty nursing organisations are working together to develop a credentialing program for their professions.

Developing a professional recognition scheme for specialist nursing. Credentialing sets a standardised benchmark for the recognition of specialised practice in nursing. It is a mechanism that is used by nurses to promote the provision of quality health care within a given nursing specialty or area of practice. Credentialing validates specialised knowledge, enhances professional credibility, and indicates achievement of specialist nursing standards by an individual nurse.

This website provides information about credentialing for nurses, including research, articles and links to credentialing programs.

ACCYPN is one of the six nursing organisations taking part in this program
