Abstract

Aim
This presentation will outline the current situation, highlight
the benefits of credentialing and propose a way forward at
a national level for Children and Young People’s Nurses.
Method
ACCYPN has been one of five Colleges developing a National
Framework for the credentialing of specialist nurses. Ms
Rosie MacLeavy and Dr Jan Pratt have represented ACCYPN
on a National Steering Committee which has developed the
National Framework for credentialing specialist nurses.
Results
To date 23 Children and Young People’s Nurses have
become Credentialed.
Conclusions
ACCYPN plans to disseminate the credentialing program at
a National Level and invites children and young people’s
nurses to participate.
