Title:
 Child Development Screening

Abstract

Aim: Early detection of developmental delay can assist children and their families in addressing needs and improving lifelong health and well-being outcomes.

Background: There is significant evidence that incidence of developmental delay is increasing globally and wait times for assessment and diagnosis are simultaneously increasing.

Method: A project piloting universal developmental screening in the childcare setting has been running in South Australia since 2022.

Results: This webinar will discuss some of the background behind the project and the findings to date including the percentages of children requiring developmental support and the types of support.
